Default Turbo? Supercharger? on a V6!

Check this video out.. at EXACTLY 3:00 into the video, the red Vectra Preface:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SiC9vWbpM8"]YouTube - www.ALLVXL.co.uk @ PVS 08[/ame]

Turbo or supercharger? Or am I seeing things?

There's other pics of the Vectra throughout the video, but only this one (That I noticed) under the bonnet.

that my friend is a super charger, very expensive bit of kit for the v6 at least £2k + then a full remap £500 and possible a standalone ecu as well £1000+

expensive and prob still has running issues if the engine is not built for it

as neil said its an expensive mod to a v6 but the turbo conversion is just as hard but could be done cheap-ish to the supercharger as you can make more or less your own of the shelf turbo kit lack of space is the only problem with a turbo conversion

Cheers guys.

Matt- I thought turbo'ing the V6 was a huge no-no due to the heat of a V6?

As for a supercharger- I really couldn't justify the costs of doing this to a Vectra- But hey... If I had money to throw away I would give it a shot.

I think I'll stick to my original plans and hold out for a Z20LET conversion

there is a astra running a c25xe with a turbo and he has had no heat probs and that bay is a lot smaller you could always do the rs boys trick of raising the rear oif the bonnet but a z20let would be the better option

I agree with you there matt, the main problem is getting rid of heat and heat build-up... lots of ventage in the right place would do the trick, but getting the right look is critical...

I can see some of the evo bonnet vents... ie the ****-off big jobs that go from the bonnet right up the middle with loads of mesh being employed, also lose the aircon. This would free up the main rad fan to actually do its job properly and draw ambient temp air into the bay instead of feeding the aircon cooler.

Also I depending where everything sits, wing vents could also lose a shedload of heat provided they're done properly... I once seen avec with wing vents, the guy said it pulled a lot of heat from the bay... except he hadn't gone thru the inner skin, the 'tard, lol! (Turns out they were only for show, duh!)

Eminently doable, but as has been said, you'd need a ruddy good wedge to chuck at it, considering the amount of loot you'd save by dropping a let in, quaiff, 6 speed box, etc etc etc.
