As soon as that's done then you can inspect the damage more closely and see what heeds to be done. it could be that your bumper has flexed when you hit the grass bank in which case it's just feathering in the repair with thick primer and sand down etc, then a couple of hits with the rattlecan and laquer until you can get it to a bodyshop m8.

hth
cheers phil i pretty sure its just the paint that has cracked i took it to a bodyshop today and he was suprised it hadnt just smashed to bits until i told him it was a geuine irmy rather than a chepo replica.he had a look and also reckons ive been lucky and just cracked the paint but i will get all the lose stuff off soon and give it a go.

i take it that you take the lose paint off spray it with primer then sand it down until its flat (what grade paper?) and do you do it with wet sand paper? then spray it silver the laquer????

yes mate, i taped some card behind it then slapped on fibreglass (the tinned stuff P40) then just made it cover the gap as such and made sure was plenty other side too so it was like a big plug!

then i let it dry in the sun (10 mins) and rubbed with with dry wet and dry then attacked it with a sander

more sanding then a few coats of P38 filler till it was smooth!

job done!

cheers mate hopefully mine will be pretty easy if it isnt cracked underneath the paint it might not need fibreglassing

it should hopefully just be a case of removing the old paint primering sanding and painting.will it be best to sand the whole bumper down and respraying it or do you reckon i will get away with just doing the affected area
