Default Tyre question

I need to know the answer to the following question...

The original tyresize for my veccy is 195/65-15, the current size I'm running is 205/55-16...

My question is this: Can I switch from 205/55-16 to 225/50-16 without doing anything to the arches? I have lowered my car 30 mm and the tires do not touch the arches no matter what I do, a however contemplating on lowering my car another 15-20mm up front closer to summer

I'm running 225/45/17's on my GSI alloys and it's lowered 35-40mm all round.

No rubbing whatsoever.

Although when I get new tyres I'll be getting 215's as I've been told my speedo will be wrong running the current tyre size.

Hope that helps

Thanks.

Based on that- My current speedo reading is 1.4% too slow.

Can't be too bad considering on my track- I managed 143 which iirc is the stock speed for my car. If my speedo is 1.4% out- I must have been going faster than my car should actually be able to do

Maybe the speedo needs re-calibrating.

Your welcome m8, to check how accurate your speedo is reading just take it from your sat nav.
