Thumbs down A question of Motor-vation....

Engines... geddit... MOTOR-vation??? :whatchutalkingabout no? well bloody sod ya then

Right, this is the full story as briefly as possible....

I've been offered an IMMACULATE (yes, i have a full understanding of what that word means) Vectra B.
T reg, 68,000 on the clock
Owned by one DOF (Doddery old fart), 0 to 60 unknown, its never been that fast.
No expense spared when it came to servicing, MOTs etc. (because the lane that leads to his garage is muddy i saw him wipe his feet on a towel before putting the car back into the garage.

4x brand new tyres. 100% original even down to the wheel trims.

No tax nor MOT (the reason follows) £250.

Right, the bad point. Possibly owing to the driving style of the DOF the engine has just about gone.
It's powerless, looses oil and without being too technical it's totally shagged. It would appear an oil pipe became blocked and starved the engine causing problems. Although it does still run.

Is this likely to be the revised X20XEV engine, XEV1 i think it was called. If yes would an X20XEV original be a direct swap?
Given i just happen to have an X20XEV engine laying about doing nothing i thought if it'll go in without hassle (i'm referring to electrical hassle as i assume the body work is the same). then it'd be a ridiculously cheap mint car...
